How a dyad begins

You write first, on this device. When two letters answer each other, a dyad has begun. A cafe is not required. The letters are the room.

Two people can start without ever meeting.

The process

   Write

   A name, a sky, a letter. No account. Your pages stay in this browser until you choose otherwise.

2. 2

   Offer

   Each writing stays in the house until you say otherwise. You may let one be carried into a letter: a key you still hold. That is not a feed.

3. 3

   Knock

   To send a letter to a living person, a light identity: a passkey, or a mail you can leave. A city, not a pin. No GPS. The veil can hide a name. It cannot hide the letter.

4. 4

   Read

   They see you if they have also written, and if both of you have offered. Either may rest, turn away, or stay in the letters for years. A street is optional.

   The page is the room. Stay there until both of you have something true. A cafe is not required. A street is optional.

   A public first meeting

   Daylight. A place with other people. Tell a friend where you will be. Your home is not a coordinate. Leave your own way. Either may rest, turn away, or stay in the letters.

   A cache, not a hunt

   If you want a first meeting that is still a letter: a poem, a view, a bench both can reach alone. Geocaching as a date. The letter leads. Neither follows the other into a private room. Coordinates of a place, not of a person. No GPS trail in this house.
